Christmas

This year we were able to go to Arizona to visit Chris's family for Christmas. It was so fun to see everyone and Austin had a blast playing with his Aunt, Uncles, and Grandma and Grandpa. It was about 50 degrees warmer in Page than it was in Montana so that was quite a nice change. There was a Phoenix Suns theme to Christmas this year as there is many years in the Lane household. Austin got a Stoudemire jersey, a Phoenix Suns basketball, and a little tikes basketball hoop. His uncles taught him how to dunk it and give hi-five. He put on quite the show for everyone. He also got a sleeping bag for camping this summer and nice snow coat for the winter. His Aunt Roni brought him back a little t-shirt from Italy where she just spent the last semester. Needless to say Austin was very spoiled this Christmas! Chris and got spoiled too! Here are a couple pictures. I will post more later.

Austin was all tuckered from opening presents
His new coat and gloves are on top of him.

Look at that hair!!!!

So Austin's hair is getting really long. I was going to go have it cut before Christmas (this would be the sixth cut since he was born) but it was 24 degrees below zero that week and I didn't want to take him out of the house in that weather. I talked about doing it myself but Chris asked me if I would rather pay $10 for Austin to get his hair cut or have him walk around looking funny because his mommy didn't know what she was doing. So I agreed to not subject Austin to the outcome of Mommy with scissors. But one night Aunt Tiffany and I had a little bit of fun and put some gel in his hair. What a cutie!!!

Four Wheeler Rides

Austin loves this wood bear that is sitting on the bookshelf and the other day he decided it needed a ride on his four wheeler. So cute!

Austin and his Auntie

On Saturday we made a trip down to Rexburg, ID. My sister Tiffany is going to school there and she was a sweetheart and watched Austin so Chris and I could go to the temple. Below is a picture of the two of them together. Austin had a blast with his Aunt. When we came back he hardly noticed we'd been gone. Aunt Tiffany let him make a good mess of her apartment and they had lots of fun playing together! We went to dinner all together and Austin kept giving her big hugs! We love you Aunt Tiff! Thank you for giving Chris and I a break!

Yes Austin still lives with his parents

Chris's First Elk

Today Chris got to go hunting with my Uncle Gil and cousins Ky and Kal and look what Chris brought home! He was pretty excited. It was his first elk. It has been pretty hard to find anything this fall because the weather has been so warm so the game is still pretty high up in the mountains. Chris had a tag for a bull or a cow so he had decided he would shoot whatever came along. He and my Uncle were walking a fence line and they saw an elk in the willows. Chris thought it was a cow but when it came out he was nicely suprised. He took it down with one shot (with his new 300 Weatherby that was his fathers day present from yours truly). Austin was pretty excited when he saw it. He kept pointing and oohing while Chris and my cousins were skinning it. I think we will have the antlers mounted but contrary to what Chris says they will not be hanging over our bed!
